ERNEST E. KOMUVES
AGE: 77 * WOODBRIDGE

Ernest E. Komuves died yesterday at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison. He was 77.

He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident of the Iselin Section of Woodbridge.

Mr. Komuves was a self-employed electrician who had owned Komuves Electric, Woodbridge, for 25 years until he began working for the Woodbridge Board of Education in 1971. He worked there as an electrician for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a communicant and usher at St. Cecelia's R.C. Church, Woodbridge.

He was a member of St. Cecelia's Council 3639 of the Knights of Columbus, Iselin, the American Legion's T. Nulty Post 471, and the Middlesex/Union County Electrical Contractors Association.

Mr. Komuves also had worked at the Iselin Fair for 33 years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Newbury; three sons, Cary of Edison and Craig and Christopher, both of the Iselin section of Woodbridge; a daughter, Kim Toff of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two brothers, Julius of Mount Holly and Andrew of Texas; two sisters, Geraldine Rose of Florida and Marge Whitworth of the Whiting section of Manchester, and three grandchildren.

Services will be 9:15 a.m. Monday from the Thomas J. Costello Funeral Home, 200 Cooper Ave., Woodbridge, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Cecelia's Church. Burial will be at Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge.
