Moderator Certification Class 2024-07-20
- There is a requirement to post the "ID Requirements" sign. "Instructions for Marking Ballot" should be posted as well (maybe can add those to voting stations?).
- Tabulator must have a 3' - 4' box around it
- refrain from political discussions is only suggested, not required.
- Need voter consent specifically before allowing someone to assist them with voting.
- Registrar and moderator can be same person
- Moderator can hire or dismiss workers at polling place
- Child may NOT place ballot into tabulator
- Voter address and name MUST be read out loud at checker station
- What defines a “ballot package”? There is no set number of ballots that makes up a "package" and no place to record how many there are in a package. There is no definition and no reason for including this on the forms--it's a throwback to old rules that were never changed, but since it wasn't changed, we need to follow it, though it makes no sense.
