Review: Sole D'Italia restaurant
On February 25, 2007, I had lunch with a group of people at the Sole D'Italia restaurant located at 12 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Ashton, MD. It was terrible. I didn't mind that the decor was dingy--sort of dirty diner style, or even that the flatware they gave was mismatched, and I was given a large soup spoon with my coffee. But it required a major effort and about a half an hour to achieve a refill on my cup of cheap coffee. For my entree, I ordered "Eggplant Parmesan"--after all, I really love eggplant parmesan, and this was an italian restaurant, after all. I was actually shocked at what I was given as that dish. Basically, it was a plate full of spaghetti pasta, with two slices of breaded eggplant that appeared to have been pre-manufactured and frozen (as one might find in a cafeteria), and on top of that, a slice of cheese, I think it was american. It wasn't even melted on top, just placed on top! I paid about $13 for a cup of coffee and this abomination which they claimed to be eggplant parmesan.
So, needless to say, I would not recommend this restaurant. It's one of the worst restaurants I've been to.
